Profile
For more than three decades, Caprice has dedicated her life to helping others navigate change, loss, and the profound transition at the end of life. Retiring as a Health Services Manager with 27 years in the Canadian Forces and a leader in hospice operations, Caprice believes that care at the end of life should be about living fully until the very end; not merely managing decline. Her journey has been one of service, empathy and purpose. While leading teams through moments of crisis and journeying with those in their final days, Caprice witnessed how peace and healing rarely arise from clinical systems. They come from presence and connection. Those moments of quiet grace inspired her to create Stillpoint Gatherings. Stillpoint is a retreat designed for individuals with terminal diagnoses, and for their loved ones, to pause, reconnect, and find peace together. Stillpoint Gatherings is not a hospice or medical facility. It is a sanctuary that gently releases families from the weight of coordination and care, allowing them to simply be together in a space that feels right for them. Each experience is personalized, immersive, and deeply human, shaped by what brings each individual comfort and peace. Caprice calls this the Stillpoint. It is that quiet centre within all movement, where presence replaces fear, and love becomes the only language left. Stillpoint Gatherings is the culmination of Caprice’s life’s work: a haven for those nearing life’s end, created by someone who has stood beside others through their most vulnerable moments, and who believes that in dying, as in living, there can be grace, beauty, and profound peace.
